A young British startup, Lunaz, is giving a second life to famous retro cars. The automotive veterans are being upgraded and transformed into electric cars.
The Lunaz company boasts a robust team, having assembled former engineers from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford, Jaguar, McLaren, Volkswagen, and Formula 1’s Renault team.
The first car to be transformed into an electric vehicle was the iconic Jaguar XK120 coupe. This Jaguar sports car was fitted with two motors, producing a total of 375 horsepower and a torque of 700 Nm, with a battery capacity of 80 kWh.
Additionally, the Jaguar XK120 features completely new suspension, brakes, and steering. The electric Jaguar can be purchased for 350,000 pounds sterling ($450,000).
Now, Lunaz has taken on the Jaguar E-Type, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, and Phantom V. All vehicles are equipped with climate control, multimedia with Wi-Fi, satellite navigation, and a traction control system.
