The first official renders of the Volkswagen Golf 2020 have been published. The new Volkswagen Golf 8 will be presented on October 24. 
The design of the Volkswagen Golf 8 won’t change radically and this was evident from the first spy photos of the hatchback. The car will be built on the platform of the current model, but will be 45 kg lighter. 
Inside the cabin, there is an unusual instrument panel with an additional display to the right of the steering wheel.
It is also known that some of the buttons in the cabin will become touch-sensitive. 
It is known that the new Volkswagen Golf 2020 will receive a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It will retain the 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0-liter petrol turbo engines and the 1.6 and 2.0-liter turbo diesels. A plug-in hybrid version of the Volkswagen Golf will also be offered, but there will be no electric vehicle.
