Police in the Brazilian city of Santa Catarina raided a workshop producing replicas of supercars. Its owners were accused of infringing automakers’ copyrights and all cars were seized. 
The investigation began two months ago following a complaint by an official Ferrari and Lamborghini dealer. Importers complained that cases of copying Italian luxury cars have become more frequent. 
The counterfeit Ferrari and Lamborghini supercars were equipped with a Chevrolet V6 engine with just over 300 hp.
They were sold for 180-250 thousand Brazilian reals ($48-66 thousand). 
During the search of the warehouse, eight unfinished supercars were found, including Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Huracan. Numerous counterfeit parts were also discovered. Police arrested two employees of the company and they face prison terms for fraud.
