In the USA, the famous Ruf CTR Yellow Bird from 1989 was put up for auction at RM Auctions. The tuned Porsche 911 coupe was produced in only 29 units.
Ruf CTR Yellow Bird — one of the most famous Porsches of the ’80s. It is based on a standard 911 Carrera coupe, but its engine was bored out to 3.4 liters, and it also features twin turbochargers, a pair of intercoolers, and fuel injection from the racing Porsche 956.
The result is 469 hp and 553 Nm of torque. With a 5-speed manual transmission, the Ruf CTR Yellow Bird could accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 342 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars of its time.
Unlike later Ruf Porsche models, this car looks quite restrained. It can really only be distinguished by its modest body kit and a rear wing in the style of the Porsche 911 Turbo.
Of course, the rarity of the model and its good condition are reflected in the price. The estimated price of the Porsche 911 is 1-1.2 million dollars.
