American John Lee from Atlanta built a very unusual BMW 2002 hot rod. The classic BMW coupe has been transformed beyond recognition.
John decided to buy a BMW 2002 in not the best condition back in high school. Then he got a job at a tuning workshop specializing in modifying Chevrolet Corvettes and decided to modify his car.
The tuning parts were taken from the workshop’s stockpiles and cost only $600.
That’s why a huge V8 from an old Corvette was installed under the hood. However, to be precise, the BMW no longer has a hood, nor does it have front fenders. They had to be removed, otherwise, the engine wouldn’t fit.
A new subframe was welded for the engine. A transmission from a Camaro was found at a junkyard, the front suspension was taken from a Corvette, and the steering rack from a Chevrolet Cobalt.
However, due to the peculiarities of the construction, the steering wheel had to be moved to the right.
The exhaust was custom-welded. Additionally, the BMW 2002 was lowered, and its roof was brought down. The result is very impressive.
