James Glickenhaus is a renowned collector and Ferrari enthusiast. It was at his request that the famous Ferrari P4/5 supercar based on the Enzo was created. Now the American has shown his collection to the British Top Gear.
Glickenhaus has been fascinated by Ferrari since childhood and, at the age of 15, started working for Luigi Chinetti, an American dealer of the brand and owner of a racing team. His first car was a Ferrari 275 coupe.
Currently, the millionaire’s collection includes the rarest Ferrari sports cars. For instance, he owns a 1948 Ferrari 166 Spider Corsa – the third car produced by the brand. The Ferrari 512 S Modulo and 206 S Dino Competizione concepts exist only as single units.
The collection also features a Ferrari 328 GTB coupe and a Ferrari 430 GT2 race car. Overall, Glickenhaus is most fond of race cars like the Ferrari 330 P3/4 and 412P.
In fact, the design of the Ferrari P4/5 and its racing version Competizione was inspired by them.
Although the American’s garage houses more than just stallions from Maranello. For example, he owns a yellow racing Ford GT40 MkIV with a 500-hp 7-liter V8, Queen of Yugoslavia’s Duesenberg J, and a Stutz DV32 from the movie “The Great Gatsby.” He also has Steve McQueen’s Baja Boot buggy.
Currently, James Glickenhaus is working on fine-tuning his own SCG 003 hypercar and preparing a new SCG 005 sports SUV.
