The American division of Honda, together with Clemson University students, created the extreme Honda Civic Deep Orange 9. Its dynamics are on par with a Formula-1 car.
The car was prepared for rally-cross competitions. Based on the standard 2018 Honda Civic sedan, it was significantly lightened.
Under the hood, there are now two 100-horsepower electric motors, and behind the front seats, a 2.0-liter 400-horsepower turbo engine is installed, powering the rear wheels.
In total, it has 600 hp and accelerates to a hundred in about 2 seconds – like a Formula-1 car. A 6-speed sequential gearbox with close gears has also been added. Moreover, the car can also run on electric traction. [ADINSERTER BLOCK=”7″] [ADINSERTER BLOCK=”8″]
The Honda Civic became all-wheel-drive, which is important in rally-cross. Additionally, the sedan now features a fully steerable chassis, making it much more maneuverable.
The Honda sports car also received an active suspension with increased travel and reinforced brakes.
