Sad news came from the USA – the famous Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds has passed away at the age of 82. He is a laureate of the Emmy and Golden Globe awards, and perhaps his most famous film is ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ from 1977.
Burt Reynolds was a huge fan of fast cars, and on the movie screen, he was accompanied by cool cars. We will tell you about the most striking ones.
Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am
Of course, when mentioning Burt Reynolds, car enthusiasts recall his black Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am from the film ‘Smokey and the Bandit.’ The 1977 Pontiac Firebird was not as powerful as it was a few years earlier, but it still impressed with its 6.6-liter V8. By the way, one such car exists in Ukraine.
By the way, Reynolds himself had a cooler Pontiac Trans-Am. The car was specially equipped for him with an 8.3-liter 600-horsepower V8.
Ford 500
Burt Reynolds’ first movie with chases was ‘White Lightning’ from 1973. There flashes a huge Ford 500. It looks like an ordinary Ford sedan from the 70s, but under its hood hides a seven-liter 370-horsepower V8 from the Mustang Boss.
Porsche 935
In the movie ‘The Cannonball Run,’ Reynolds’ character drives a racing coupe Porsche 935. At one time, this 750-horsepower car even won the 24-hour race at Le Mans. However, for the movie, naturally, a replica of the model was created based on an ordinary Porsche 911.
Citroen SM
In the movie ‘All or Nothing’ from 1974, Burt Reynolds’ intoxicated character escapes from the police in a rare Citroen SM. Interestingly, in the movie, it is called a Maserati, which is not far from the truth since the Italians helped create the coupe. Interestingly, the Citroen SM features a 170-horsepower Maserati V6 and a hydropneumatic suspension.
Chevrolet Camaro SS
For the cop in the movie ‘Cop and a Half’ (1993), they chose a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS with a 6.4-liter V8 producing 375 hp. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
