Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Track Edition: The Fastest Chinese Car Now for the Track

Xiaomi is no longer just a “newcomer” in the electric vehicle market. It is seriously vying for a place among the manufacturers of the most dynamic cars in the world. And it proves this with action: the flagship SU7 Ultra sedan has received a new modification with a track package — the Track Edition, created for those who dream of a steering wheel trembling under the load at the apex, not queues at charging stations in shopping malls.

This version will be available for order very soon. The cost of the track package is 100,000 yuan — approximately $13,800. For this money, the buyer gets not cosmetic tweaks but real technical upgrades: the standard suspension has been replaced with Bilstein EVO R coilovers, the wheels with lighter forged 21-inch rims, and the tires with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slicks, which are usually found on track-focused Porsches or Lamborghinis. The brakes have also been beefed up: now featuring Endless brake pads designed for extreme loads.

Visually, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Track Edition immediately gives itself away: a more aggressive aerodynamic body kit, a hood with ventilation holes, bucket seats, and the absence of a rear row. In its place is a rigid safety cage, like in real track monsters. All this has allowed for a slight reduction in the car’s weight, though some of the “lightweighting” solutions seem more like marketing gimmicks. For example, the carbon fiber hood with holes for 42,000 yuan certainly looks impressive but, as it turns out, doesn’t work very effectively — the ventilation “nostrils” barely let any air through. Still, the car is now 1.3 kilograms lighter. Well, that’s something.

But the most important thing is the fully unlocked power potential. While the standard SU7 Ultra’s electronics slightly restrain its appetite, the Track Edition leaves the factory with no limitations. The combined power of the three electric motors is 1,548 horsepower and 1,770 Nm of torque. This is no longer just a fast electric car; it’s an electric projectile capable of competing with the best models in its class. In terms of power, it approaches hypercar levels, though it technically remains a “production sedan.”

To prove that all this isn’t just impressive numbers, the track version of the SU7 has already been tested at the Nürburgring — the legendary circuit that forgives no mistakes — as well as on several tracks in China. Xiaomi is demonstrating that its ambitions aren’t limited to public roads; it’s seriously looking toward motorsports.

Mass production of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Track Edition is planned to begin in the first half of 2025. This is truly a remarkable event: a company that until recently dealt exclusively with smartphones and gadgets now has one of the most powerful and technologically advanced electric cars in the world in its arsenal.
