The American rental company Hertz has decided to part with its Maserati Grecale vehicles not only through rentals but also permanently. A total of 40 crossovers from 2023–2024 are up for sale, and the prices—for a brand with a trident on the grille—are simply shocking: from $36,500 to $48,000. This means a slightly used Grecale can be bought for the price of a new… Peugeot 3008.
The vehicles have mileage ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 kilometers—just the right age when the electronics haven’t yet had time to break, and the interior leather still retains the scent of Italian chemicals. All Grecale models come with a 2.0-liter turbo engine: 300 hp in the base version and 330 hp in the Modena variant. Plus, they feature adaptive suspension and 20-inch wheels.

By the way, a brand-new crossover like this costs around $77,000 in the USA and almost $80,000 in Ukraine. So, it’s no surprise that many of these ex-rental vehicles may soon end up on Ukrainian roads. Is it worth buying such an “Italian lunchbox on wheels” after its life in rental service? That’s a tough question.
