In the Netherlands, a Ukrainian-founded atelier was revived and unveiled its first model

The automotive world was shaken by a high-profile premiere — the legendary coachbuilding atelier Saoutchik, founded by Ukrainian Yakov Saoutchik over a century ago, is making a comeback with the ultra-modern Torpedo S sports car. This is not just a car — it is a manifesto of beauty, power, and homage to the history of Ukrainian genius.

Yakov Saoutchik was born on the territory of modern Ukraine and emigrated to France, where in 1906 he founded the Saoutchik atelier in Paris. During the interwar decades, his creations adorned the most luxurious cars of the era — from Delahaye and Hispano-Suiza to Bugatti and Mercedes-Benz. The unique style, flowing lines, and opulent interiors made the brand a symbol of automotive aristocracy.

And now — a new chapter in history. The revived atelier has unveiled the Torpedo S — a coupe with a hybrid powertrain producing over 1,000 horsepower. Fewer than two dozen of these cars will be made, and each will be handcrafted.

Saoutchik Torpedo S Specifications:

  • Body type: 2+2 coupe
  • Powertrain: hybrid (V8 + electric motors)
  • Total power: over 1,000 hp
  • 0–100 km/h acceleration: under 3 seconds
  • Top speed: over 350 km/h
  • Interior: holographic dashboard, natural materials, custom finishes
  • Expected price: several million euros

The design of the new model reflects Saoutchik’s stylistic heritage — wave-like side lines, an elongated hood, elegant shapes, and attention to detail. But at the same time, it is a technically ultra-modern hypercar with an active aerodynamics system and all-wheel drive.

Why is this important for Ukraine?
Because Saoutchik is not just a story about beautiful cars. It is the story of a Ukrainian who contributed to the global luxury and design industry. And today, in a new reality, the brand with Ukrainian roots once again demonstrates that our potential is world-class.
