Lamborghini does not rule out the possibility of fulfilling the dream of brand fans

Lamborghini is preparing a new version of the Temerario

Lamborghini plans to expand the Temerario lineup by adding a new rear-wheel-drive version. This model is expected to receive a hybrid powertrain but with less power than the current PHEV variant. Although the brand is satisfied with its hybrid cars, it does not rule out the possibility of releasing a model with a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE).

Currently, the standard Temerario is equipped with a powerful hybrid system with three electric motors and a gasoline V8, which together produce 907 hp. However, for those seeking a simpler option, the company is developing a rear-wheel-drive version with a simplified hybrid scheme.

“I’m not saying that in the future you cannot see a 2WD version of a road car, and perhaps a different type of hybridization,” said Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini.

Changes in design and technology

The new version may receive updated bumpers, wheels, and chassis settings that are better suited for the rear-wheel-drive format. The possibility of a more powerful modification with figures exceeding 1000 hp, which would become the successor to the Huracan STO, is also being discussed.

As for a fully gasoline version, Lamborghini does not currently plan to release one for road use. Hybrid solutions remain a priority, although the company is monitoring market trends. At the same time, interest in fully electric supercars is waning, so the brand has postponed the launch of its first EV to 2029.

The company’s recent decisions show that it is ready to adapt to changes in the automotive world while preserving its identity. Hybridization remains a key direction, but Lamborghini does not dismiss classical technologies if they meet customer expectations.
