Apple Unveils Updates to CarPlay and Maps at WWDC 2025
At the annual Worldwide Developers Conference WWDC 2025, Apple announced a number of innovations for its services, particularly for CarPlay and Maps. Among the key changes are an updated interface, widgets, and improved integration with messages.
CarPlay, which is used over 600 million times daily, has received a new Liquid Glass design. It is intended to be more intuitive and aesthetic. A compact mode for incoming calls has also been introduced, so that call information does not interfere with viewing the route.
New Features for Drivers
One of the useful new features is widgets that will allow users to control connected devices, such as garage doors or home lighting. Furthermore, the update also concerns messages: it is now possible to pin chats and quickly react using Tapbacks (for example, sending “likes” or “dislikes”).
CarPlay Ultra, which recently debuted in Aston Martin, will also receive these updates. They will subsequently appear in Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
Apple Maps can now save the history of visited places in an encrypted form. The system also analyzes the user’s habitual routes, offering optimal options for trips home or to the office, as well as warning about traffic jams.
These updates show that Apple continues to develop its services, making them more personalized and convenient for everyday use. Particular attention is paid to security and privacy, which is becoming increasingly relevant in the modern digital world.
