Tesla offers used Model 3 and Model Y with battery warranty up to 260,000 kilometers

If you are looking for a used car, the most profitable offers are usually found on the private market, but this option is not suitable for everyone. Many buyers prefer the convenience of purchasing through a dealer or directly from the manufacturer. For those who want to minimize the stress of buying a used car, Tesla’s official used vehicles with mileage may seem like an attractive option, although not without drawbacks.

The main downside? You will not see the car before you make a non-refundable $500 deposit, plus the cost of delivery, which can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. And by “see” it means there are not even photos of the specific car – nothing. It turns out that you will just have to trust the process.

Yes, we understand that Tesla’s reputation is not at its best right now, but that doesn’t change the fact that the company continues to produce some of the best electric vehicles on the market. Moreover, they have quite affordable used models, many of which have fairly solid warranty terms.

Among the five most interesting offers we found are three first-generation Model Ys and two Model 3s. For example, this is a 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus Rear-Wheel Drive for $19,000. Although the car’s mileage is 62,092 miles (99,927 km), market analysis shows that similar Model 3s with approximately the same mileage usually cost from $18,000 to $22,000, so this offer is quite profitable.

Perhaps the most compelling argument for the buyer is that the car includes a limited warranty from Tesla for 1 year or 10,000 miles. In addition, the remainder of the original battery and powertrain warranty is valid until September 2028 or until 160,000 miles is reached. Some used Model 3 and Y also have an additional limited vehicle warranty that is valid until 2026 or up to 80,000 miles.

Another 2021 Model 3 Standard Range Plus Rear-Wheel Drive is also available for sale, with a battery and powertrain warranty until October 2029 or 160,000 miles. However, the description states that the car has been “repaired,” without specifying the nature of the repair work.

Several Model Ys on Tesla’s used car list are also marked as repaired. All of them have a limited warranty for 1 year or 10,000 miles, and the battery and powertrain warranty is valid until August 2028 and December 2028, respectively.
