Problems with out-of-control Mustangs outside the US began to manifest actively after this muscle car became available worldwide. For a long time, it remained the most popular sports car, which is why it often ends up with drivers who do not know how to handle it, especially with the electronic safety systems turned off.
A recent incident likely occurred in [the country] and clearly demonstrates how easy it is to crash if you don’t control the throttle pedal. A video, redistributed on Reddit, shows the moment the driver sharply applies more throttle while exiting a dirt road, causing the car’s rear end to slide out.
Watch the video:
At first, the situation seems under control. However, after exiting, the driver appears to keep the throttle pedal pressed for too long, and the Ford begins to skid to the left. Losing control, the driver brakes sharply and drives off down a grassy slope by the road.
The recording does not show what damage the [car] sustained after the impact – only how the driver is helped to get out from the slope. If there was only grass or soft earth at the bottom of the ravine, the car might have avoided serious damage. Nevertheless, the front bumper and grille will almost certainly require repair or even replacement.
Like most Mustang crashes, this one was preventable. It would have been enough to lift off the throttle earlier to avoid the unpleasant incident. We hope the driver learned a lesson from this situation, although intuition suggests that such mistakes will be repeated more than once.
