The 1961 Chevrolet Impala received a Bubble Top body
The restored car is a four-door hardtop, which received the unofficial name Bubble Top. This is associated with thin roof pillars and large curved front and rear windows. This design creates a panoramic glazing effect.
The 1961 model year Impala featured a more restrained design compared to its predecessors. Chevrolet abandoned large tail fins, made the body lower, and added a distinctive rear end with six round taillights.
The length of the car is 5316 mm, the width reaches 1991 mm, and the wheelbase is 3023 mm. The weight of the hardtop in factory configuration was approximately 1588 kg.
Chevrolet Impala specifications included engines up to 6.7 liters
For the 1961 Impala, an inline six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.9 liters was offered, as well as gasoline V8s of 4.6, 5.7 and 6.7 liters. The power of the factory powertrains, depending on the version, ranged from 135 to 360 hp.
The base 4.6-liter V8 developed 170 hp, while its more powerful modification produced 230 hp. For the 5.7-liter V8, several variants were stated, from 250 to 350 hp.
The most powerful in the range was the 6.7-liter V8 of the 409 series with an output of 360 hp. Buyers were also offered manual transmissions and a two-speed Powerglide automatic. Which specific engine is installed on the car restored in Ukraine, the authors of the publication did not specify.
