According to official documents, the company is recalling 5,637 vehicles for non-compliance with safety requirements. The problem is that the third row is designed for three people but has only two seat belts. This defect was discovered by the supplier, but it contradicts federal transportation safety standards.
What is the core of the problem?
Simply put, Volkswagen boasted about cabin capacity by creating a third row for three passengers but installed only two seat belts. The worst part is that the solution to the problem seems like a mockery of buyers who expected comfort for the whole family.
Instead of adding a third seat belt, the company instructed dealers to install special pads that will limit seating space. Owners have already started looking for information about how much the cabin capacity will be reduced.
Since the solution is not yet ready, unsold ID. Buzz vehicles are temporarily not being sold. Owners are advised to use the third row cautiously. This is already the second recall in the past month – the previous problem was the absence of the “Brake” text on the corresponding indicator.
