Driver in Texas Creates Chaos by Sticking Rebar Out of Car Window

Unusual situations on the road happen, but this Cadillac driver seems to have set a new standard for irresponsibility. A short video posted on Reddit sparked a wave of outrage – it’s clear the driver wasn’t even aware of the risk of their actions.

The recording, taken in Texas, shows a Cadillac moving in two lanes. At first, nothing unusual, until you notice a detail that looks like an illustration for “how not to do it”: two metal rebars protruding from the rear window.

As the car approaches a bridge, the rebar hits the mirror of an oncoming Ford F-Series. Plastic fragments scatter in the air. Soon, the same fate befell the side mirror of a white Chevrolet van.

Although the rebar is clearly visible from behind the Cadillac, the oncoming drivers had almost no chance of noticing it. The reason was the blinding sun: one driver had the sun visor down, another was shielding their eye with their hand.

After the collision with the Chevrolet, the rebar almost touches another car. The Ford driver seems to have noticed the danger at the last moment – the video shows him jerking his head back sharply.

To complete the picture, the Cadillac almost crashed into roadworks in the middle of the lane, indicating a complete lack of attention from the driver. Furthermore, a black car was also likely damaged by the rebar.

The offender’s license plate is clearly visible in the recording, so there’s no doubt – this case will not go unnoticed by law enforcement.

Let’s hope no one else decides to use car windows for transporting construction materials.
