Ram’s First SUV Is Coming, And With It – Two New SRT Models

Confirmation of a New Large Ram SUV in Development

Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa has officially announced that the Ram brand is working on a new large SUV. Production of this model will begin in 2028, and it will be available with both internal combustion engines and range-extending hybrid powertrains.

Investments and Product Line Expansion

Earlier this month, Stellantis announced plans to produce a new large SUV at its plant in Warren. Although details were not initially disclosed, it is now clear that it is the Ram model. Filosa emphasized that the $13 billion investment in the United States is aimed at expanding the product portfolio, including a return to the mid-size pickup and large SUV segments by 2028.

New SRT Performance Models

In addition to the SUV, Ram is preparing to launch two new performance models under the SRT brand. One of them is likely to be the successor to the TRX, while the second could be more affordable. The TRX successor is expected to feature a supercharged V8 engine with over 700 hp, allowing it to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor R.

The second SRT model remains a mystery, but Filosa indicated its uniqueness. Possible options include a modified Ram 1500 RHO or a special street version inspired by the Dude concept, which will be presented at the SEMA show.

These steps indicate Stellantis’s ambitions to strengthen Ram’s position in the market, especially in segments where the brand was not previously active. A 26% sales growth this year points to the potential for further expansion. The planned new models could attract both fans of powerful pickups and those looking for more practical SUVs with modern technology.
