Toyota continues to expand its premium Century lineup and is essentially forming a separate brand based on it. Now, another luxurious model has joined the sedan and crossover—the large Century Coupe, which debuted at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. The new model was announced on Toyota’s official website.

The new Century Coupe is positioned as a “grand tourer” over 5 meters long, created for maximum comfort during travel. The model is set to become a more affordable alternative to heavyweight ultra-luxury class competitors like the Bentley Continental GT and Rolls-Royce Spectre—but in a distinctive Japanese style.
The front of the coupe is recognizable by its Century SUV motifs: a massive grille and two-level LED headlights create a solid yet modern image, while the increased ground clearance adds practicality. The profile with a long hood, high window line, and smooth roofline hints at comfortable long-distance journeys, but the doors are a real surprise. The model features asymmetrical sliding doors: two on the left side and only one on the right, where a signature umbrella is also hidden—a direct nod to Rolls-Royce.

The Century Coupe’s interior is designed in the traditions of Japanese luxury: natural leather, wood trim, and modern technology. The cabin features a steering wheel-“yoke,” three screens on the dashboard, a dividing laser “shield” between the driver and passengers, and separate seats in the second row with multimedia screens. The front passenger seat has been shifted backward to provide more cabin space—an approach typically seen in top-tier business sedans.
Technical specifications have not yet been revealed, but Toyota hints at a powerful hybrid powertrain—in the style of the entire Century lineup. For reference: the Century SUV crossover is equipped with a hybrid featuring a 3.5-liter V6 and electric motors with a combined output of 406 hp, while the flagship Century sedan has a 5.0-liter V8 hybrid with 431 hp. Therefore, the coupe is expected to have figures that are at least equally ambitious.

Toyota is gradually transforming Century into its own answer to global ultra-premium brands. And with the appearance of the Century Coupe, it becomes clear: Japanese luxury is reaching a new level, where tradition, design, and technology create a unique alternative to the European automotive elite.
