Automaker Toyota is once again facing serious problems related to its 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engines. The company has announced the recall of an additional 127,000 pickup trucks and SUVs in the United States. The reason was the discovery of residual metal particles that may have remained during the manufacturing process.

This is already the second case of a mass recall due to a similar problem. In 2024, Toyota had already recalled over 100,000 Tundra and Lexus LX vehicles due to the risk associated with insufficient engine cleaning during production. At that time, metal particles also threatened to reduce lubrication and subsequent wear of key components.

The company is currently developing a method to eliminate the defect. As in the previous case, there is a possibility that the only solution will be engine replacement. It is important to note that the recall was initiated voluntarily, without the intervention of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notifications by January 2026.
