Manthey Significantly Accelerated the Porsche 911 GT3 Without Interfering with the Engine

Porsche 911 GT3 Improvements Through Collaboration with Manthey Racing

The new aerodynamic kit from Manthey for the Porsche 911 GT3 allows for significant improvement of its track performance without interfering with the engine operation. Among the key achievements are a reduction of the Nürburgring lap time by 2.76 seconds and an increase in downforce to 1190 pounds.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is considered one of the most track-oriented cars approved for use on public roads. However, the standard GT3 version remains the ideal choice for those who value speed with elements of comfort. Thanks to the collaboration with Manthey Racing, this balance has shifted even more towards dynamics and performance.

Porsche engineers worked directly with Manthey specialists to develop the new upgrade kit aimed at increasing downforce and reducing lap times.

Aerodynamic Updates

In the base configuration, the updated GT3 generates 782 pounds of downforce. In the most aggressive mode, this figure increases to 1190 pounds, bringing the car closer to the characteristics of racing models. Among the main changes are an updated front bumper with new air intakes and carbon edges, as well as a new splitter. Additionally, the side skirts have been improved, along with aerodynamic wheel disks on the rear wheels and an updated rear section with a large carbon rear wing.

Technical Changes

Significant changes have also occurred under the body. For example, the air channels under the car have become 39 inches longer, which further improves downforce. Unique four-mode dampers have been developed with a 10% increase in spring stiffness compared to the previous Manthey kit. Light-alloy wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear complete the chassis updates.

Interestingly, none of these changes affected the GT3’s 4.0-liter flat-six engine. Despite this, the version with the Manthey kit recorded a time of 6:52.981 on the Nürburgring, which is 2.76 seconds faster than the previous model.

Porsche has not yet announced the price of the new Manthey kit but has confirmed that it will become available from spring 2026 through certified dealerships in the USA.

These updates demonstrate how modern technologies allow for impressive results without changes to the powertrain. Such kits are becoming increasingly popular among car enthusiasts who seek to enhance their car’s performance while maintaining its reliability and comfort. The growing demand for such solutions may stimulate further development of aerodynamic and chassis improvements for production models.
