Xiaomi Becomes the First Chinese Company to Present a Vision GT Concept Car

Concept Presentation

Xiaomi has become the first Chinese automaker to present its own wild Vision Gran Turismo concept. The car was unveiled at the 2026 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and showcases what a real hypercar from the tech giant could look like.

Technical Base and Performance

The Vision GT is based on the company’s 900-volt silicon carbide platform. While exact performance specifications have not been disclosed, its electric powertrain is expected to deliver over 1,900 horsepower. Most of the details released by Xiaomi concern the car’s design and aerodynamics.

As noted by the company’s head of automotive design, Li Tianyuan, the Vision GT concept has a drag coefficient of 0.29 and, according to the company, was sculpted by the wind.

As with wild, track-focused hypercars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Red Bull RB17, the Xiaomi features large Venturi tunnels running under the body and exiting through a dramatic rear edge, helping to suck the car onto the road.

Aerodynamics and Exterior

There is no data on exactly how much downforce it can generate, but it would undoubtedly be enough to distort a face during cornering. The front end includes a motorsport-refined carbon splitter and discreet LED headlights. As mentioned, the rear is dominated by huge Venturi tunnels, but the LED taillight strip that wraps around the entire rear of the car is also very impressive.

Xiaomi also imagined the Vision GT concept with a very interesting wheel set. Mounted over a set of carbon-ceramic brakes, the wheels feature turbine-fan rims with a floating cover over them, creating the illusion that the wheels are not moving when the car is driving.

Interior of the Future

Otherworldly Cockpit
The interior looks tight but futuristic. Passengers are seated in a pair of seats embedded in a carbon monocoque. There is a panoramic projection display, similar to the new BMW iX3, as well as a steering wheel straight from motorsport with five large round screens, including a drift mode switch.

Future Plans

There is no information on when the car will be added to Gran Turismo, but it is expected to become available in the coming weeks. Will this influence a future road-going supercar from Xiaomi? Unlikely, at least in such an extreme form, but only time will tell.

The emergence of such a concept from a company that just a few years ago was associated exclusively with electronics vividly illustrates the depth of transformation in the automotive industry. This is not just a fantasy for a video game, but a statement of technological prowess and design boldness. Such developments often become a testing ground for ideas that later, in a softened form, make their way into production models, shaping new standards for aerodynamics, interior, and driver interaction. Even if we never see this particular racing car on the road, its technologies could define the future of the brand’s electric sports cars.
