De Tomaso has finally delivered its P72 supercar to the first customer. This happened almost seven years after the model was introduced as one of the most stylish limited-edition cars. The first example is named Aurelian Night and looks like a true automotive jewel.
Design and color scheme
The car, created by designer Jovin Wong, looks stunning in any configuration, but this version elevates it to a new level. Most of the body is covered in a deep blue shade that appears almost black under certain lighting, while under direct sunlight it sparkles, accentuating the car’s lines.
Like flashes of color on an expensive watch, the blue paint contrasts with rose gold accents. These are found on the front splitter, air intakes, the stripe running across the hood, roof, and rear deck, as well as on the side sills and rear diffuser. The most striking details of the entire car are the wheels and rearview mirrors, finished in rose gold.

Interior matching the exterior
The P72’s interior perfectly harmonizes with its exterior appearance. The seats are upholstered in Venetian blue leather, while rose gold elements with knurling are placed throughout the cabin. These include stunning instruments, the gearshift lever, steering wheel, as well as parts of the dashboard, door cards, and the outer edges of the seats.
Technical specifications and driving impressions
Of course, the P72 is appealing not only for its design. The car is built on a lightweight carbon fiber chassis and is equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter Ford V8 engine, producing 700 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. Although this engine is not as exotic as those in some competitors at a million-dollar price point, it is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. This promises incredible driving pleasure.
Thus, De Tomaso has not only fulfilled its promise to release a production version but has also created a true work of art on wheels. The combination of classic mechanics with modern materials and unique design makes this car not just a means of transportation, but a collectible item. The manual transmission and powerful engine harken back to a time when driving was a real ritual, not just moving from point A to point B. This first example sets a high bar for subsequent models, demonstrating that De Tomaso is returning with ambitious and emotional projects.
