New Audi Nuvolari with 987 horsepower demonstrates agility on the track

Testing the Audi Nuvolari in Italy: new details

Spy photographers recently captured the Audi Nuvolari at the Nürburgring, but the adventures of this supercar are not limited to Germany. The company has released a new video showing a near-production prototype undergoing testing at the Nardo test track in Italy.

Technical specifications and power

The short video shows a camouflaged car that sometimes moves almost silently. This is not surprising, as the model is equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbocharged two-liter V8 engine, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 7.3 kWh, and three axial electric motors. They provide a total output of 987 hp (736 kW / 1001 PS), allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 350 km/h.

Active rear wing and handling

Although much was already known, the video shows the Nuvolari drifting through corners, looking remarkably stable. It also offers the first glimpse of the active rear wing in operation. It has three positions – closed, low downforce, and high downforce – and can be controlled automatically or manually. The wing also functions as an air brake and is capable of generating over 400 kg of downforce.

Rapid development and global testing

According to Audi representatives, the short development time of the supercar demonstrates their commitment to moving faster – in development, decision-making, and innovation, while maintaining technical excellence. They added that prototypes are being tested worldwide, with their characteristics being evaluated and constantly optimized under the most challenging conditions.

Sales launch and price

The manufacturer will begin accepting European orders in the fourth quarter, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2027. The official price of the Audi Nuvolari has not yet been announced, but rumors suggest it will be around $500,000 in the US.

It is worth noting that the launch of the Audi Nuvolari will be a significant event for the brand, as it is not just a new supercar, but also a symbol of the transition to hybrid technologies in the highest price segment. The limited series of 499 units and a potential continuation in the form of a Spyder make this model even more desirable for collectors. Testing in various climatic conditions, from the Nürburgring to hot Italy, underscores the seriousness of Audi’s intentions to create not just a fast, but also a reliable car adapted to real roads.
