Jensen Interceptor GTX Debut Approaches
The Jensen Interceptor GTX is preparing for its grand premiere. The company has announced the creation of a mysterious track special car. The model will feature an aluminum body and a supercharged V8 engine.
The world premiere of the Jensen Interceptor GTX is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, meaning the car should be unveiled by the end of September. This is coming very soon, so the company has announced that the car is a “pre-production, ultra-high-performance, track special” that foreshadows future road-going versions.
Mysterious Prototype
Details remain hazy, but the company has called this mysterious model an “enhanced prototype build.” The manufacturer noted that it lays the groundwork for “several future Interceptor variants, including road cars and track cars.”
The phrasing is puzzling, as they are effectively calling it a pre-production prototype, suggesting the model is merely a track-focused development car. However, some publications speculate that it will be sold to consumers.
Jensen International CEO David Darden did not shed much light on the matter, stating:
“The Interceptor GTX is not a static show car. It is a track special developed as an enhanced prototype build that foreshadows future Jensen models. We eagerly look forward to presenting it to the world, fittingly sixty years after the launch of the original Jensen Interceptor.”

Test Vehicle for Future Models
We reached out for clarification and received a response that “the GTX is a track development car used for testing, paving the way for customer cars (both track and road versions).” This means it is a prototype and cannot be bought — at least not yet.
Although many questions remain, the company noted that the Interceptor GTX is “not a restomod nor a continuation of any previous Jensen model.” Instead, it is entirely new and features a modern, handcrafted aluminum body. This is complemented by an aluminum chassis and a supercharged V8 engine for “the ultimate analog driving experience.”
Powerful Engine
Previous reports suggested the model could feature a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from GM. This has yet to be confirmed, but this engine produces 685 hp (511 kW / 695 PS) and 673 lb-ft (911 Nm) of torque in the CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series.

Thus, the Jensen Interceptor GTX marks an important step in the revival of the legendary brand. Although this particular example is only a testing prototype, it demonstrates the company’s ambitions to create a modern analog sports car with classic design. The use of an aluminum body and chassis, along with a powerful supercharged V8, indicates that Jensen aims to blend tradition with modern technology. Further road and track versions emerging from this prototype could become a true sensation for brand enthusiasts and lovers of classic sports cars. All that remains is to wait for the official premiere to see if the production version lives up to these high expectations.
