In Zakarpattia, a classic Plymouth from the late 1950s was spotted, which is associated with the car “Christine” from Stephen King’s novel of the same name and its film adaptation. The car has already been imported into Ukraine, but there is no information about its owner yet. This is reported by the “1888.CARS” channel.
Plymouth Fury became the star of Stephen King’s film adaptation

Stephen King’s novel “Christine” was published in 1983. In the same year, director John Carpenter released the film of the same name, centered on a red-and-white Plymouth from the late 1950s. It was after this film adaptation that the car became one of the most recognizable American classic cars.
At the same time, the production Plymouth Fury of 1958 differed from the cinematic “Christine.” Factory Fury models of that year were offered only as two-door hardtops, and their characteristic factory finish was white paint with gold trim.
The classic Plymouth Fury was equipped with powerful V8s

The standard 1958 Plymouth Fury received a 5.2-liter V8 producing 290 hp. Buyers were also offered a 5.7-liter Golden Commando V8 with 305 hp, while the version with electronic fuel injection produced 315 hp.
For the filming of “Christine,” not only real Plymouth Fury cars were used. Cars of other Plymouth models from 1958 were modified to look like the main car. Therefore, using only photographs of the car in Zakarpattia, it is impossible to confirm that the imported example is a factory Plymouth Fury.
The Fury series appeared at Plymouth in 1956. In 1958, the model had characteristic large tailfins, dual headlights, and an updated grille.
