July 1 Debuts the Most Aggressive Version of the Lamborghini Urus

Lamborghini announces the new Urus Performante: a hybrid monster in carbon fiber

Lamborghini has published a teaser for the updated high-performance version of its Urus SUV, which will officially premiere on July 1. The manufacturer is not yet revealing all the details, but notes that “a new chapter begins,” combining “cutting-edge innovation with pure adrenaline.”

Although the company is keeping the intrigue, rumors suggest it is the updated Urus Performante. Spies have repeatedly spotted prototypes, and some details match the teaser image.

More about Lamborghini: The most extreme SUV gains power, but questions arise about the scale

Design and aerodynamics

The image shows only a few hints, but the upper carbon fiber spoiler looks identical to the one installed on the previous model. It is complemented by a middle spoiler, which has become significantly larger than before.

In addition, the model features updated taillights and decorative vents similar to those on the Urus SE. A carbon fiber roof is also visible.

Although the teaser shows only part of the rear end, previous spy photos demonstrate that the SUV will have an evolutionary front bumper with updated grilles and slats. These are complemented by redesigned air intakes and a new daytime running light signature. A new rear bumper, diffuser, and exhaust system are also expected.

Powertrain and performance

The previous Performante had a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 657 hp (490 kW / 666 PS) and 850 Nm of torque. The updated model will receive a new plug-in hybrid powertrain. It will likely be similar to the one used in the Urus SE, which combines the same V8 with a 25.9 kWh battery pack and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission.

This setup gives the SE a total output of 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS), an all-electric range of up to 56 km, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. However, the Performante will undoubtedly be faster, lighter, and more powerful.

Although the hybrid system adds significant weight, the extensive use of carbon fiber will help offset this increase. On the previous model, this lightweight material saved 47 kg.

Thus, the new Urus Performante will be not just another update, but a true technological leap for the Italian brand. The combination of a powerful hybrid engine with aggressive design and carbon fiber elements makes it one of the most anticipated super-SUVs of the year. It is worth noting that the transition to hybrid technology is part of Lamborghini’s overall strategy to electrify its lineup, allowing it to reduce emissions without sacrificing dynamic performance. All that remains is to wait for the official technical specifications and price, which will likely be impressive.
