Updates for the 2027 Dodge Durango: new packages and safety
Dodge has introduced an updated version of its Durango SUV for the 2027 model year. Although a fully “refreshed” Durango is expected by 2030, the current model received a number of minor updates focused on personalization and new trim levels.
New packages and trim options
For the Durango GT Hemi version, a new Brass Monkey package has appeared. It includes 20-inch Brass Monkey-style wheels and black “345” badges on the fenders with brass accents.
The Durango R/T 392 is now offered in a new Plus version. It adds Nappa leather seats, leather armrests, and a leather center console cover. The seven-seat crossover also features heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a sunroof. The package includes black roof rails with integrated Stow ‘n Place crossbars.
New options are also available for the Durango R/T 392, including red seat belts, 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels, and yellow Brembo brake calipers for the Premium version.
Blacktop Redline Package and Jailbreak for Hellcat
Customers can choose the new Blacktop Redline package. It adds 20-inch forged Y-spoke wheels and a splitter for the Plus and Premium versions. The package also includes a six-passenger interior with Crypto Sweep accents, Nappa leather, and suede upholstery.
The top-of-the-line Durango SRT Hellcat now offers over 14 million combinations thanks to new Jailbreak personalization options. Among the options are two new wheel designs and a six-passenger interior with black Nappa leather and suede.
New colors and anti-theft protection
All Durango versions have received a new body color called Pitch Black. Additionally, Dodge has equipped the aging crossover with a “digital lock” that minimizes unauthorized key connection and key fob duplication.
Engine lineup and prices
The engine lineup remains unchanged. It includes everything from the 295-horsepower (220 kW / 299 hp) 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar to the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hemi producing 710 hp (529 kW / 720 hp). Dodge has not announced the price for the base Durango GT but confirmed that the GT Hemi will start at $43,675.

The 2027 updates for the Dodge Durango are quite modest, but they demonstrate the manufacturer’s desire to maintain interest in a model that has not undergone major changes for a long time. The main emphasis is on expanding personalization options, allowing buyers to create a more unique vehicle. The introduction of the “digital lock” is an important step in combating theft, as modern cars are often targeted due to the vulnerability of keyless entry systems. Despite the age of the platform, the Durango continues to show strong sales, and such updates are likely to help maintain this trend until a completely new model arrives.
