AC introduces the first series Cobra coupe with 730 hp for the price of two Porsche 911s

The British company AC Cars has officially introduced the Cobra GT Coupe — the first series-production coupe in the history of the legendary Cobra model with a fixed roof. The new model combines the classic style of the original Cobra with modern technology and powerful Ford V8 engines. Carscoops writes about this.

The design of the model is inspired by the 1964 AC A98 Le Mans race car. The coupe features a long hood, a sloped fastback-style roof, and a specially designed Kammtail rear end for improved aerodynamics.

The car is built on an aluminum space frame and has a fully carbon fiber body. Despite its larger dimensions compared to the original Cobra, the car’s weight does not exceed 1600 kg.

Two versions of the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated Ford Coyote V8 engine are available for the model.

The base modification develops 456 hp and 555 Nm of torque. The top version is equipped with a supercharger and produces 730 hp and 820 Nm.

According to the manufacturer, the most powerful coupe can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds.

Buyers will be offered a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Unlike many retro sports cars, the new Cobra GT Coupe is positioned as a car for long-distance travel. The interior features a modern multimedia system, climate control, and extensive personalization options.

The starting price for the naturally aspirated version is £234,300, or approximately $317,000 and 13.2 million UAH. The supercharged modification is priced at £256,300, equivalent to about $347,000 or 14.4 million UAH.

For comparison, the price of the coupe exceeds the cost of two new Porsche 911 Carreras on the British market.

Production of the model will be limited, and the first customer deliveries are planned only for 2028, after fulfilling orders for the Cobra GT Roadster.
