As the name suggests, the Aito M8 is smaller than the M9, but it is still considered a full-size SUV in China. It measures 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. The design of the M8 is quite sleek, and the side profile somewhat reminds us of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, which is not bad.

To power the Aito M8, a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine is used that exclusively serves as a means of range extension, developing 158 hp. It’s complemented by a 221 hp electric motor on the front axle and a 304 hp motor on the rear. Customers can choose between a 36 kWh and a 51.9 kWh battery, offering an all-electric range of 201 km and 310 km respectively. With a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, the M8 claims it can travel up to 948 miles (1,526 km).

Interestingly, the EREV also uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, meaning only five minutes of fast charging is enough to add 93 miles (150 km) of range.

Like the M9, the interior of the M8 is tech-focused and looks very luxurious. The dashboard is dominated by three huge screens, a sleek central console, and two wireless charging pads. There’s also a 75-inch head-up display and an additional large rear display as an option. Aito offers the M8 in 2+3 and 2+2+2 configurations. All models include the ADS 3.0 driver assistance system with LiDAR, seven millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras.
