Americans Placed Hundreds of Pre-Orders for UAZ After Debut in the USA

The North American premiere of the UAZ Patriot SUV took place at the international auto show in Los Angeles. The exclusive importer of the model is the Californian company Bremach Inc., and the Russian vehicle has been given its own name, Bremach 4×4, here. Sanctions? What sanctions? It reminds us of the recent story with Lada Niva in Germany, which was taken up by the German tuning studio Lorinser…

The Patriot was presented in two versions—standard and for extreme off-road. The second option features special wheels, body kit, reinforced bumpers, etc. Both versions have a 2.7-liter gasoline engine with 149 hp. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic Punch Powerglide 6L50. The cost of the standard version of the UAZ in the USA is $26,405.

Strange as it may seem, within the first day since the start of order acceptance for the Patriot, Americans placed deposits totaling $3.8 million. The most interesting part is where the vehicle is made. Despite the official relations between Russia and the USA, somehow “everything was settled.” And note, legally (at least, judging by the plaque).

The number of cars for which customers made a deposit is not specified, but the minimum deposit for a vehicle is $100.

By the way, the UAZ Patriot, albeit under the name Bremach, is the first Russian car in history officially delivered to the USA. As Drom writes, the shipments of Patriots to the first American buyers will start in 2022. But here we must contribute regarding the Ukrainian craftsmen. Perhaps few, except Ukrainians, have managed to re-export American cars from Ukraine to America. In particular, we are talking about tuned Teslas made in Ukraine.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s a whole cult about UAZ in Japan. And we must also mention that the Humpbacked Zaporozhets is sold in the USA at the price of a Ford Mustang.
