Hybrid Hypercar Czinger 21C Sets New Records
Czinger, a company that appeared on the automotive scene a few years ago, has proven that its 21C hypercar is not just a concept. The Los Angeles-based manufacturer has not only put the model into series production but has also outperformed European competitors on the best American tracks. The 21C already has five new records for production cars to its name.
Technical Specifications
The hypercar, whose parts are manufactured using 3D printing technology, is equipped with a hybrid powertrain producing 1350 hp. It combines a 2.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with two front (150 hp each) and one rear (150 hp) electric motors. Most of the power (1050 hp) is sent to the rear wheels, and the car’s weight does not exceed 1315 kg. According to the manufacturer, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes just 1.9 seconds.
Instead of the usual approach—deliver the car to the track, set a record, and return—the Czinger team decided to do something unusual. They covered 1000 miles on California roads, visiting five tracks over five consecutive days to break records at each one.
Achievements on the Tracks
At Laguna Seca, the 21C improved its own previous record (1:24.75), posting a time of 1:24.39. At Thunderhill Raceway Park, the hypercar set a new record of 1:48.30, which is 3.39 seconds faster than the previous achievement. At Sonoma Raceway, it lapped the circuit in 1:35.05, beating competitors by 0.70 seconds.
To conclude the campaign, the Czinger 21C set records at Willow Springs Raceway (1:19.73) and The Thermal Club (2:03.17). All results were officially confirmed by Racelogic and will be featured in a documentary set to be released next Monday.
We are proud to be returning to The Quail and seeing how far we have come. Year after year, we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible, refining our technology and performance. This campaign was the culmination of our work, — stated Czinger’s founder and CEO, Lukas Czinger.
This series of records confirms that the American automotive industry can create true engineering masterpieces capable of competing with the best European brands. Moreover, the Czinger 21C is not just fast on the track—it has undergone a serious test on public roads, proving its reliability.
