The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 coupe is the most famous James Bond car. Agent 007 drove it in seven different Bond series. Only a few special cars were created for the films, but now Aston Martin has surprised with the news – the Brits will release a limited edition of 28 DB5 like Bond’s.
The price of the Aston Martin DB5 will be 3.5 million dollars. Developers also promise that the car will get some of James Bond’s spy gadgets, but refused to disclose which ones.
Recall that in the films, the Aston Martin DB5 had machine guns in the front bumper, a retractable bulletproof shield, a special glove compartment for a gun, and even an ejector seat. Furthermore, the car’s license plates changed at the push of a button, and oil and spikes were released from the rear bumper onto the road. However, due to all this, the cars would not be allowed on public roads.
The specifications of the Aston Martin DB5 are not disclosed, but the standard 60s model was equipped with 4.0-liter inline-sixes with 282 and 325 hp. All cars will be silver, like Bond’s car.
By the way, this is not the first similar retro model from the Brits: earlier they released 25 coupe Aston Martin DB4 GT.
