BMW Alpina Concludes Production of One of Its Fastest SUVs with a Special $180,000 Version

The Final Version of the Powerful SUV from BMW Alpina

Following the full integration of the Alpina brand into the BMW structure, the company has introduced the first new model under the joint brand. This is a specially prepared XB7 SUV, whose production is coming to an end. This version, named Manufaktur, will be available exclusively to buyers in the USA and Canada.

The model is officially called the 2026 BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur, and its release marks the end of XB7 production at the BMW plant in South Carolina. Only 120 units will be produced, each in an identical specification. The cars will be offered in two matte paint finishes: Frozen Alpina Green or Frozen Alpina Blue.

Exterior and Design Features

Both matte paint finishes are combined with glossy black Shadowline trim accents and powerful 23-inch forged 20-spoke wheels. Overall, the exterior remains recognizable for the XB7 model. Distinctive features of this version include a Manufaktur badge on the rear, Manufaktur lettering on the B-pillars, as well as thin black accent lines extending from the front fenders to the rear.

Luxurious Limited Edition Interior

The changes to the interior are subtle, but they elevate the level of luxury. Each XB7 Manufaktur is upholstered in Tartufo Full Merino leather and trimmed with Alpina Walnut Nature Black wood details. Alpina lettering is embroidered on the seat headrests, brand emblems are placed on the black floor mats, and a small plaque reminds that this SUV is “1 of 120”.

With maximum comfort in mind, engineers equipped the rear of the cabin with luxurious captain’s chairs designed for long journeys. Each unit also comes with handcrafted leather travel bags.

Technical Specifications and Performance

Technically, the Manufaktur version is identical to the regular XB7. Under the hood works the familiar 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, which produces 631 hp and 800 Nm of torque, assisted by a 48-volt starter-generator system. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This is enough to accelerate the large SUV to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds.

The SUV is equipped with an air suspension with adjustable ground clearance of up to 3.2 inches, stiffer rear axle bushings, and an integral active rear-wheel steering system, which improves the handling and agility of the large vehicle.

Price and Availability

No additional options are available for this model. Each BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur leaves the factory in the same specification. The starting price is set at $180,000, plus $1,550 for destination and handling within the USA.

The release of this limited series not only concludes the history of the XB7 model but also symbolizes a new stage for Alpina under the wing of BMW. The limited quantity, unique paint, and exclusive trim make this car not just a powerful SUV, but a collectible item that embodies the combination of high technology, luxury, and individuality. Such projects often become a benchmark for future production models, demonstrating what the company is capable of when not constrained by mass production.
