The British supercar was designed by Gordon Murray – the father of the legendary McLaren F1. That’s why the coupe was made three-seater with a central steering wheel. Like the F1, the new car is very light, with a weight of about a ton.

Murray also applied another of his inventions – the ground effect, which he introduced in Formula 1 back in the late ’70s. As with the cars of those years, a large fan is installed at the back. It draws air from under the car’s underbody and creates a vacuum that allows the car to stick to the ground. Therefore, the T.50 does not need a rear wing. A specially designed naturally aspirated V12 engine, capable of revving up to 12,400 RPM, is being developed by Cosworth for the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50.

It is complemented by a 48-volt system, delivering a total power output of 700 hp.
