About 9,000 cars were produced in total, but far from all of them have survived to this day. The engine is a 6-cylinder with a volume of 3 liters and a power of 150 hp. Transmission – 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic.
Perhaps the company would have continued to produce one of the most unusual cars of that time, but in 1982 John DeLorean, the founder of the company, was arrested, accused of drug trafficking. Later, the court acquitted John, but while he was “serving time,” the DMC plant in Northern Ireland went bankrupt.
