Daihatsu Presents a Limited Edition Rocky in Indonesia
Limited editions always attract attention, even when it’s not about million-dollar supercars but affordable SUVs. Daihatsu decided to test this principle by presenting the Rocky Limited Edition – a special version for the Indonesian market with a run of only 10 cars.
Design and Features
The model, available only during the GIIAS auto show, is based on last year’s version of the Rocky. It received unpainted bumpers, a grille with the Daihatsu logo, and 16-inch black wheels, giving it a rugged look. The color is Energetic Orange with black elements on the roof, wheel arches, and mirrors.
The interior remained almost unchanged but received black inserts on the steering wheel, center console, and other elements. The trim includes a 7-inch multimedia screen, a digital instrument panel, and two airbags.
Technical Specifications
Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 87 hp, which works in tandem with a CVT. This version did not receive any technical updates compared to the standard model. In Indonesia, this configuration is the most popular, although in Japan, a turbocharged 1.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive is offered.
The price of the limited edition is approximately $15,100 – only $260 more expensive than the regular version. Orders are accepted exclusively during the GIIAS auto show, which runs from July 24 to August 3. For brand enthusiasts, this is a unique opportunity to get a rare model for an almost standard price.
The Daihatsu Rocky has been available on several different markets, but it appeared in Indonesia relatively recently. The limited edition could be an interesting option for those who value exclusivity without serious changes to the technical part. At the same time, the lack of more powerful engines may disappoint those who expected more sporty characteristics.
