INKAS and VinFast Collaboration
The INKAS company has joined forces with electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast to create an armored SUV with gold-plated elements. The model is named Lạc Hồng 900 LX and features a unique radiator grille, gold accents, and a luxurious interior.
Security Characteristics
The vehicle is certified to the VPAM VR7 standard, allowing it to withstand rifle shots, including armor-piercing bullets, and grenade explosions. This makes it an ideal choice for business elites and government officials who value safety along with luxury.
Popularity in Vietnam
Although VinFast cars are rarely seen on US roads due to the brand’s limited launch, they enjoy significant popularity in Vietnam. The new Lạc Hồng 900 LX model, developed in collaboration with armor specialists, has already been introduced to the domestic market.
Technical Features
The 900 LX model is based on the VinFast VF 9 platform and is offered in two versions: standard and armored. The armored version, developed by INKAS, fully meets the requirements for operation on Vietnamese roads. During testing, the vehicle withstood 400 shots from laser-guided weapons and the simultaneous detonation of two DM51 hand grenades. Externally, the armored version is almost indistinguishable from the standard model.
Engines and Performance
Both the standard and armored versions of the Lạc Hồng 900 LX are equipped with a 123 kWh battery from CATL. The standard model has two electric motors with a combined output of 402 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds. The armored version received reinforced engines with a power of 455 hp, but due to the additional weight of the armor, acceleration to 62 mph takes 9.8 seconds.
Design and Interior
Externally, the 900 LX differs from the base VF 9 model thanks to its chrome radiator grille, gold details on the door handles and hood, as well as luxury elements in the interior, including leather and wood inserts.
The development of the armored electric vehicle demonstrates the growing demand for security technologies in the premium transport segment. The use of gold accents and high-quality materials emphasizes the focus on clients who combine safety requirements with aesthetic preferences. This approach could become a trend for other manufacturers, especially in markets where safety and status are key factors in the choice.
