New Cupra Raval electric car prepares for premiere
Volkswagen has postponed the launch of its ID.2 to 2026, but Cupra still plans to show its version – the Raval – this fall. It is a front-wheel drive electric car, built on a special version of the MEB platform adapted for compact models.
The Raval and ID.2 concepts demonstrated a power of 223 hp, but the production versions will receive more modest specifications. The main advantage is expected to be an affordable price – around €25,000. The base version will get a 38 kWh battery with a range of 300 km, while the optional 56 kWh will provide up to 440 km on a single charge.
Design and Features
Despite the camouflage, it is noticeable that the production version will differ from the concept. The headlights have taken on a triangular shape, and the hood has received characteristic bulges. Cupra traditionally offers more sporty suspension settings, so the Raval should be more dynamic than its competitors.
Given the growing demand for affordable electric cars, the Raval could become an interesting alternative for city dwellers. Its success will largely depend on the final price and real performance, which will become known after the official presentation.
