This Forza series game is exactly what we’ve been waiting for since the very beginning of the franchise

Forza Horizon 6 Announcement

The long-awaited Forza Horizon 6 game has finally received a release date – May 19. The project will be released on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5. For the first time in the series’ history, the events will unfold in Japan, specifically in its capital, Tokyo. The game promises the largest car collection among all installments of the franchise.

The game’s cover features the new Toyota GR GT – the long-awaited flagship car from Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division, which was unveiled in early December. Alongside it, the modern Toyota Land Cruiser is present on the cover. In the background, you can see the silhouette of Tokyo and the iconic Mount Fuji.

Car Collection and Innovations

At launch, over 550 cars will be available in the game. The range is very wide: from modern supercars like the Nissan GT-R Nismo, Pagani Huayra R, and Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, to iconic Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) models such as the original Honda NSX, Honda Civic Type R EP3, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII.

A new “R” class has also been introduced for cars focused on track racing, which will include, for example, the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Ferrari F80. Players who pre-order the game will receive the Ferrari J50 in their garage.

Game World and Atmosphere

As in previous Forza Horizon installments, players will be able to deeply customize the appearance of their cars and showcase them in iconic Tokyo locations, for example, at the Daikoku parking area or while driving on the Shuto Expressway. The game will also feature numerous scenic mountain roads, similar to those where drifting originated in the 1970s.

The developers claim that the sound of each car will be more realistic than ever before. Furthermore, the urban part of the Tokyo map will be five times larger than the city centers in any previous game in the series, allowing for hours of exploration of the dense urban environment without a sense of monotony.

The release of Forza Horizon 6 in Japan is a logical step, considering the long-standing requests from fans. This location is not only an iconic place for car enthusiasts worldwide but also a perfect canvas for arcade racing with its combination of ultra-modern cities, technological highways, and challenging mountain serpentines. Such an environment could become the largest and most diverse game world in the history of the franchise, where everyone will find a track to their liking.
