This is exactly what happened to an extremely expensive Ford GT supercar that was involved in an accident in California. Despite there being video from the scene, it is still difficult to say exactly what happened.
Location and Circumstances of the Incident
The accident occurred at the intersection of Winding Way and Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael, near Sacramento, on April 5th. According to information accompanying posts about the accident and its aftermath, the car had recently changed hands for $2.5 million. Its value is now significantly lower.
Based on blurry video from the opposite side of the intersection, the GT appears to have been moving faster than the surrounding traffic. However, it cannot be said that it was flying down the road. Perhaps a van exiting a parking lot and merging into traffic played a role—it may have touched the Ford or simply startled the driver, causing an error at the wheel.
Immediate Consequences of the Collision
Whether there was contact or not, one thing is clear: the GT loses traction, spins clockwise, and then crashes with great force into the landscaping and concrete structures near the Winding Way apartments. The impact is so strong that it throws the supercar into the air, tears the door panels off, and spins the entire car in the opposite direction. Video taken immediately after the accident shows significant damage.

Although the footage shows the car only from the front left side, it seems almost every body panel is damaged. The passenger-side door is still functional and in an upright position. The hazard lights are working. Beyond that, it’s unclear if anything else in the car is operational. More importantly, it appears both occupants of the car will be okay.
Condition of the Victims and Investigation
According to reports, both were taken to the hospital. The owner’s daughter is apparently seeking additional information about what exactly happened. An ambulance happened to be near the accident site and arrived within minutes. This may have played a decisive role in the people surviving such a violent collision.
