Shocking Price for BMW M3 Maintenance
A 2021 BMW M3 owner shared his impression of the price for a routine maintenance service at the dealer. An oil change, cabin air filter replacement, diagnostics, and vehicle inspection would have cost him $1200. The online community was shocked by such an amount for basic procedures.
The most impressive item on the bill was the price for the cabin filter – $340, even though a similar filter can be purchased for $40. Also on the list of services were a “deep diagnostic” for $180 and a “comprehensive inspection” for $280. The owner refused the dealer’s services and decided to order the parts himself.
I looked him in the eye, called him a liar, and went to FCPEuro
This case shows that even with expensive cars, some work can be done independently or by turning to independent service centers. Many drivers have long distrusted official dealers due to inflated prices for specialized services. This is especially true for premium brands, where the cost of maintenance often does not correspond to the actual expenses.
