Independent analysts note that the car market needs to prepare for the second wave of the crisis related to the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic. Immediately after the “black April” followed a period of low demand, but this fall the car market is growing dynamically. The Auto Parts Catalog Avtopro.ua found out how things are on the Ukrainian car market.
The Situation is Improving
According to Ukravtoprom, only in October 2020, 8.4 thousand new cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 6% more than in October last year. Ukrainians began to buy parts and repair cars more often, as they did not do this previously due to the strict quarantine. The top three in vehicle sales from January to September of this year are:
- 10,021 cars sold;
- 8,902 cars sold;
- 3,857 cars sold.
The top ten key players in the Ukrainian car market also include Nissan, Hyundai, and Skoda.
The positions of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Mitsubishi weaken every month, but the share of these brands is still large. Ukrainian buyers are most interested in vehicles from manufacturers from France, South Korea, and Japan. In October, there was already a growth in demand for Hyundai, Peugeot, and Ford cars.
Further Development of Events
The trend in the modern car market is the increase in the number of budget cars with ICE and very expensive electric vehicles. The number of hybrids is also growing. Fleets are becoming more diverse.
Ukraine follows global trends.In total, over 60 thousand cars were sold in the Ukrainian car market. The country’s market is among the top twenty in Europe and shows good recovery dynamics. While Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz cars are the most demanded in Central and Western Europe, car enthusiasts from Eastern Europe prefer Renault, Kia, and Hyundai. In the future, this situation is unlikely to change. Experts do not think that sales results this year will be able to reach the levels of 2019.
