Well, you must have already guessed which car won the annual competition… 
Nissan Leaf, Opel Ampera? No, but your line of thinking is correct – the winner was an electric car, albeit not a popular one, but a premium one.
The leader in the Car of the Year contest was the electric crossover Jaguar i-Pace. 
And you will be even more surprised by the second place. Silver was taken by the newest and still little-known coupé Alpine A110 from Renault, which lost only 2 points to Jaguar, having gained 126 points from the jury consisting of 60 auto journalists from 23 European countries. 
Also in the TOP-10 cars were: Kia Ceed, Ford Focus, Citroen C3 Aircross, Peugeot 508, and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
