Ferrari recently introduced the Manuale version for the 12Cilindri coupe, equipping it with a modified dual-clutch automatic gearbox that also has three pedals and a gated shifter. Owners of the standard car who felt left out can now get their own share of updates from Novitec. The tuner has prepared a comprehensive set of work covering aerodynamics, chassis, interior, and exhaust, without resorting to excessive flashiness.
Aerodynamic carbon-fiber body kit
After previous work on the coupe, Novitec has moved on to the open-top Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider. The body kit is restrained by tuning standards and, according to the company, genuinely functional. It includes a front splitter, bumper air-intake trim and side louvers, sharper side sills, new mirror caps, a rear diffuser, and a spoiler on the trunk lid — all in glossy carbon fiber.
Wheels and stance
The central element is the forged NF12 wheels with Y-shaped spokes and center locks in racing style, developed together with Vossen. The front wheels are 21 inches in diameter, the rear ones 22 inches, allowing the wheel arches to be tightly filled. The grand tourer’s sporty character is enhanced by a spring kit that lowers the 12Cilindri by 30 mm closer to the ground.
Engine and exhaust system
Under the long hood lies the same naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. Its output remains unchanged: power is 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW) and 678 Nm of torque. Novitec did not touch the output, but dressed the engine in an open carbon-fiber cover and added two air filters.
As is its habit, Novitec sharpened the sound of the 12Cilindri with custom exhaust systems made of stainless steel or F1-class Inconel. Both variants have active valves. For those who already have everything, a 999-grade gold coating is offered for better heat dissipation, as well as insulated sport catalytic converters and exhaust tips in matte black or gold.
Interior and price
The tuner can reupholster the two-seater’s interior with fine leather and Alcantara according to the owner’s wishes. The cost of the work has not been announced, which is rarely a good sign for the wallet.
Further prospects
Ferrari is working on a hardcore version of the 12Cilindri, which is expected to get a more aggressive aerodynamic body kit, a different chassis, and more power from the V12. Judging by previous generations of grand tourers from Maranello, Novitec will likely develop a more complete upgrade package for this model too, possibly within the N Largo series.
Separately, it is worth mentioning that Novitec usually does not stop at one stage of tuning. If demand for the 12Cilindri Spider proves sufficient, we can expect a version with increased power, new bodywork options, and an even more radical interior. This would be entirely in the spirit of a company that has been turning Italian supercars into even more exclusive things for decades. For now, the current package looks like a thoughtful compromise between everyday comfort and the true character of Ferrari.
