Ford Won’t Build an F-250 Raptor, But You Can Fake One for $20,000

Updates for the Ford F-250 Super Duty

Anyone looking for a reliable large all-wheel-drive pickup from Ford knows that the F-150 Raptor and Raptor R are the best in their class. The problem arises when a larger truck is needed, as Ford’s standard lineup offers no options beyond that. AEV fills this gap.

FX370 Package – A New Level of Capability

Yes, the large Ford F-250 Super Duty is available in the Tremor version, but the AEV modification package takes it to a completely different level. The updates for the new FX370 kit start with 18-inch black wheels fitted with 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires, ideal for off-roading.

AEV’s First Ford Truck Turned Out Bigger Than You Think

Along with the new wheel package, AEV’s own 4-inch DualSport suspension is installed, complemented by Bilstein shock absorbers specially tuned for this application. AEV also offers a separate kit for the Super Duty called the FXL, which includes 40-inch tires, but such large wheels require additional fender flares, which the new FX370 lacks, giving it a more factory-like appearance.

Just one look at the front of the Ford is enough to realize: this is not an ordinary Super Duty. AEV has developed a sturdy steel front bumper for it, capable of supporting a heavy-duty winch and new lighting.

Rear Changes and Additional Equipment

The rear also received changes – a new high-clearance bumper is installed. The AEV updates are complemented by an exterior graphics package and embroidered headrests.

The Price Question

Unsurprisingly, modifying the F-250 Super Duty with such parts is not cheap. AEV asks $19,999 for the kit, which of course does not include the starting price of the base F-250 in the US – $45,975. But if the F-150 is too small and you need a real machine for heavy off-roading, this option might be quite suitable.

This approach allows you to get a versatile off-road tool whose capabilities approach factory Raptor versions, but with greater payload and space. It’s worth noting that the heavy-duty pickup tuning market is constantly growing, and AEV has successfully carved out a niche between the Tremor and fully custom projects. For those who frequently travel off-road or work in harsh conditions, such an investment can justify itself through reliability and off-road capability.
