Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed that the Bronco model will receive a hybrid powertrain. He also stated that over time, every vehicle of the brand will have a hybrid variant. These plans are reminiscent of the company’s 2018 announcement, when Ford announced hybrid versions of the Bronco, Escape, Explorer, Mustang, and F-150, promising a full focus on hybrids.
Implementation of Previous Plans and Current Changes
Since then, only some of the promises have been fulfilled. For example, hybrid versions of the Escape have already been discontinued, and the hybrid Explorer is now available primarily for special orders. As for the hybrid Bronco and Mustang, their status remained uncertain, similar to some other delayed projects in the automotive industry.
However, the situation may change. During a recent appearance on a podcast, Jim Farley noted a significant increase in demand for electric vehicles and hybrids. He cited an example that about 30% of F-150 sales are hybrids, and the Maverick Hybrid holds unique positions in the market.

Details about future hybrids have not yet been disclosed, but it is clear that Ford is adjusting its strategy. The company is moving away from an exclusive focus on fully electric vehicles, which led to significant financial costs.
