Want this full-size Chevrolet? Get ready for a four-cylinder engine

New special version of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST Select

Chevrolet has introduced a new special version of its popular Silverado 1500 RST Select pickup truck. The model received a number of updates, including black side steps, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain rubber, and protective body cladding. At the same time, as experts note, this version is not radically new, but rather offers minor stylistic changes.

“It is designed for customers who want to get a sporty, modern design with smart technology at an affordable price.”

Technical features and options

The special edition is available in two cab configurations — double cab and full four-door crew cab. However, under the hood, all variants will have the same powertrain — a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TurboMax engine producing 310 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can be configured with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

The model’s price starts at $58,060, but with discounts, the final cost could be around $54,305. Despite this, some buyers might feel that the updates do not justify the additional cost, as the core technical specifications remain unchanged.

Chevrolet continues to experiment with special versions of its models, trying to attract new customers. However, in the case of the Silverado 1500 RST Select Special Edition, the changes seem more like a marketing move than a serious update. Perhaps the brand will focus on more significant changes in the next generations of pickup trucks.
