And this is not the bottom yet: car production in Russia fell 7 times

Statistics of new car production in Russia for April 2022 have been released. In the second month of spring, practically all factories were idle, resulting in only 19.9 thousand cars being assembled compared to 136 thousand in April 2021. That is, production volumes decreased by 85.4 percent or 6.8 times.

All Russian factories of European, Japanese, and Korean car companies are currently idle, and the timelines for resuming car production have not yet been announced. Most automakers paused their business in Russia in the spring, with only local brands continuing operations; however, they face problems due to a lack of parts. That’s all for us. Ultimately, the same goes for Russia’s automotive industry.

Or not – let us remind you that AvtoVAZ announced the release of the ‘anti-crisis’ Lada Granta, which in terms of equipment level will only be slightly better than the Soviet Zhigulis.
